A train derailed in Peiting, Upper Bavaria, on Tuesday morning. A spokeswoman for the federal police said part of the front train had jumped off the rails in the Peiting-Ost station area. Three passengers suffered a slight shock, but were released after brief treatment. “There were no serious injuries.”
Several media had reported on the accident. The train was occupied at around 7.30 a.m. at the time of the accident with a good 50 passengers, including many schoolchildren, said the police spokeswoman. The single-track route in the Weilheim-Schongau district is closed until further notice. The cause of the accident is unclear.
