How does a peel-off mask work?

Peel-off masks have a gel-like consistency that slowly dries on the skin after application to the face. When the mask is removed, blackheads, loose skin cells, dirt and sebum deposits should stick to it and be removed in this way. With regular use you can prevent skin blemishes such as pimples and blackheads. Peel-off masks are particularly suitable for impure and combination skin. Peel-off mask: how to use it

  • Thoroughly cleanse your face: Before you can apply the mask, you should clean your face with a mild cleansing gel or cream. Then dry your face thoroughly again.
  • Apply peel-off mask: Before you apply the mask to your entire face, you can test the tolerance in one area to make sure that your skin can tolerate the mask. DIY instructions for a peel-off mask

Of course, you don’t necessarily have to buy cleansing peel-off masks; if you have the time and desire, you can also use a DIY mask. You only need a few ingredients to make it:

  • 3 charcoal tablets
  • 1 tbsp gelatin powder or vegetable agar agar
  • 2 tsp hot water

If you prefer to use a vegan mask without animal gelatin, which contains bones, cartilage and connective tissue from cattle and pigs, you can vegetable agar agar use. These are carbohydrates that are found in the cell walls of blue and red algae. Agar agar is obtained from sun-dried algae, then dried and processed into powder. Most drugstores, health food stores and health food stores have the herbal gelling agent in their range.

Crush the tablets with a mortar and boil water at the same time. Then mix the charcoal powder with the hot water and the gelatine or the vegetable binding agent until there are no more lumps.
