After “The Passion”, RTL continued to broadcast live from Kassel. When Frauke Ludowig took over there with an accompanying “Exclusive” special, some local viewers had apparently had enough.

Kassel – After 2022, on Wednesday evening (March 27th) RTL once again put on “The Passion”, a live musical production that this time in Kassel presents the biblical passion story in a modern way with stars like Ben Blümel (42) and Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht (32 ) retold. But the sky was not kind to those involved, at least when it came to the weather: the actors and the live audience experienced a cold, quite wet night on site.

Bad weather for “The Passion” and “Exclusive” – spectators have to endure the rain

Nevertheless, many spectators gathered around the main stage, which had been set up in the heart of Kassel’s city center, and were not bothered by the unpleasant wetness – probably also because large parts of the live audience had brought rain ponchos and jackets with them. Others preferred to flee over the course of the evening, while a hard core remained: they watched the RTL “Passion” for a good two hours, which was completely torn apart on the internet after just a few minutes.

But at some point there was also discontent in Kassel itself, probably in view of dwindling strength. He sometimes met presenter Frauke Ludowig (60), as a corresponding video recording on X (formerly Twitter) shows. Because the RTL celebrity was supposed to interview the actors on site for her “Exclusive” special after “The Passion”. Not yet live on air, the 60-year-old asked the viewers whether they would stay for her special broadcast.

RTL has to compete against strong competition

The Cologne private broadcaster placed great emphasis on the Easter musical, but had to assert itself against well-known TV competition on Wednesday evening: “The Passion” competed against “Aktenzeichen XY” – an exciting duel, after all, Rudi Cerne (65) presented the legend and write 600. Episode of the crime series.

Live audience at “The Passion” partly annoyed – not interested in Frauke Ludowig’s special broadcast

But the reactions that the clip clearly captures were unmistakable: “No” and “No,” grumbled tired and annoyed people from the front rows of the “The Passion” audience. Given the bad weather, many people probably went straight home. In fact, during the “Exclusive” broadcast, you could clearly see how viewers kept leaving the place until the last one had gone home.

The television audience and those who did not leave immediately after the performance then got to see another funny moment: due to a breakdown, Frauke Ludowig had to interrupt her presentation of “The Passion”. Sources used: “The Passion” (RTL/RTL+), rtl.de, twitter.com
