Party conference of the Munich Greens: Lots of applause, little criticism – Munich

Public self-reflection? In short supply. Heated debates? None noticed. The wind is blowing in the face of the eco-party from many sides, but there is little sign of it at the city association’s party conferences: people prefer to applaud each other.

At least once there was a real crash at the Munich Green Party conference last Saturday. During the political debate, Michael Löffler came to the Kolpinghaus stage and gave those responsible a miserable report on inclusion. The party conference was organized in such a way that it massively disadvantaged people with a health problem, he said, and listed barrier after barrier as he felt it, right up to his place at the stage microphone. The Greens should be measured by realities, “not by pretty words,” demanded Löffler angrily.
