Xabi Alonso has already canceled, Julian Nagelsmann and Ralf Rangnick also don’t want to join FC Bayern Munich as coaches. And now Roberto De Zerbi is also canceling. The options at FC Bayern are becoming fewer and fewer.

Roberto De Zerbi, who is also considered a possible new coach at FC Bayern Munich, says he wants to stay at his club Brighton & Hove Albion. “We will talk to Tony. I would like to stay in Brighton,” the 44-year-old told the British TV channel Sky Sports News on Friday and announced a conversation with club boss Tony Bloom. “I love my players, I love this city, I love the club, I love the fans.” If he was happy, no club could make him leave, the Italian said. His contract in Brighton runs until the summer of 2026. Recently, however, things have been anything but smooth for the English first division club. The southern English team went six games in a row without a win. The chance of reaching one of the European Cup places is only theoretical.

De Zerbi led the English first division football team into the Europa League last season, and the club is currently in twelfth place in the Premier League. The 44-year-old was considered a coach at several top European clubs, including FC Bayern. The Munich team is still looking for a successor for Thomas Tuchel, who is leaving the club in the summer. Most recently, the Austrian team boss Ralf Rangnick, Xabi Alonso from Bayer Leverkusen and national coach Julian Nagelsmann canceled.
