Paris town hall will suspend funding for the Stanislas private establishment

A consequence of the controversies surrounding the Minister of National Education. The City of Paris announced Wednesday evening that it would temporarily suspend its funding to the private establishment Stanislas (6th), accused of “abnormalities” in an official report, while awaiting “clarifications” from the State.

“After becoming aware through the press of the content of an administrative investigation report from the General Inspectorate of Education”, she “decided to suspend the financing of the establishment” […] “as a precautionary measure, pending the clarifications required from the State,” announced Paris City Hall in a press release.

More than 1.3 million euros at stake

The City of Paris has paid, for the 2022-2023 school year, for the nursery, elementary and middle schools of the Stanislas establishment an amount of 1,373,905 euros, corresponding to the 483 students enrolled in nursery and elementary school , and to the 1,329 middle school students, within the framework of the rules on the financing of private establishments under contract by communities.

This report, revealed Tuesday by Mediapartreports homophobic and sexist “abuses” and practices that do not comply with the law at the private Catholic Stanislas school, where the children of the new Minister of Education Amélie Oudéa-Castéra are educated.

Paris “waits” for responses from the State

The City of Paris “is surprised” that it “has not been the subject of any official transmission to the communities which finance this establishment, and requests that this communication take place as quickly as possible”. It “also requests the State to transmit the action plan following this report, which was also reported in the press”.

Contacted, the Paris town hall emphasizes that “payment of upcoming installments” to the establishment will be suspended for the current year, without further details. “We are waiting on the one hand for the State to send us the report and on the other hand for it to tell us what measures it intends to take” following the publication of this report, we add.
