Meghan and Harry caused a stir again with their recent visit to New York. As a reminder: In May the two were said to have been literally chased by photographers. A spokesman for the couple said at the time: “Last evening the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Ms Ragland were involved in a near-disastrous car chase by a group of extremely aggressive paparazzi.”

However, a taxi driver who drove the two at the time contradicted this account. Now the two are back in the Big Apple. They visited, among other things, a school in Brooklyn and a summit of their Archewell Foundation.

This summit took place on Mental Health Day and was primarily aimed at supporting parents who have lost their children to hate on social media. With regard to her own offspring, the 42-year-old emphasized: “Our children are still very young, but social media will not disappear. I am happy that our children are at an age where this is not in our immediate future , but I’m still shocked at how the situation continues to change.” There was a bit of excitement during their event.

Outcry over Harry and Meghan’s convoy

The fact that Harry and Meghan were now relying on their precautionary measures also led to a loud outcry. As the “Daily MailAccording to reports, the two of them were escorted for only around 200 meters from one location to the other in a not exactly environmentally friendly manner. They covered this distance between the hotel and the location of the event. They were therefore accused of double standards because the two of them are otherwise particularly committed to environmental issues.

Their convoy consisted of seven SUVs, which only traveled a few meters to drop them off in time for the “Word Mental Health Day Festival,” it was said. Harry and Meghan talked to parents there. At the beginning, Harry said there: “I want to start by thanking all the parents, the mothers and fathers, for being here with us.” He was convinced that “it is not easy for you to be here.”

For Harry and Meghan, their visit to New York could have been a challenge after their explosive appearance a few months ago. In every case, their convoy was accompanied by the police. According to the newspaper, strict measures were taken to ensure the safety of the two. Harry and Meghan are said to have been unimpressed and rather smiled nicely upon their arrival.
