Ottobrunn – New lunchtime supervisor – District of Munich

In the community of Ottobrunn, midday care at the three primary schools will be in new hands in the future. At the elementary school on Lenbachallee, this has already been taken over by the district association of the Munich-Land workers’ welfare organization. According to the decision of the municipal council, the Bildungswerkstatt association will take over the lunchtime care at the elementary schools on Friedenstraße and Albert-Schweitzer-Straße. The reallocation was necessary after Ingrid Eichhorn-Menzel, the long-time chairwoman of the association that had previously organized the lunchtime care at all three schools, asked to hand it over.

In addition to lunchtime care, the Bildungswerkstatt association will also be responsible for the all-day school on Albert-Schweitzer-Straße, which is still held by the Munich-Land District Youth Association. With the educational workshop, the municipality has gained a partner who can demonstrate a lot of expertise in the field of all-day school and lunch care, according to the draft resolution. The educational workshop is then also to convert the cooperation between lunchtime childcare services that is emerging at the two schools into a full-day concept. This was important to the community against the background of the upcoming legal entitlement to all-day care in primary school. The municipal administration also promises that the association is already overseeing pilot projects in the so-called cooperative full-day. With this model, parents can choose between two variants, a flexible one and a rhythmic one.

The Arbeiterwohlfahrt München-Land already operates the all-day school at the elementary school on Lenbachallee. There, too, a provider coordinates all-day school and after-school care, in the opinion of the municipality this is an important step with regard to the implementation of the legal entitlement to all-day care from the school year 2026/27 on.
