Ottobrunn – Green politician and AfD man clash – district of Munich

When politicians from the Greens and the AfD meet, things can get uncomfortable. It was the same last Friday when the state parliamentarians Claudia Köhler (Greens) from Unterhaching and Andreas Winhart (AfD) from Rosenheim met at a panel discussion in the Ottobrunn high school. After the event, there were two allegations: Köhler accused Winhart of lying, the AfD member of parliament in turn questioned the credibility of the Green politician.

The three MPs Claudia Köhler (Greens), Andreas Winhart (AfD) and Natascha Kohnen (SPD) discussed at the end of the simulation game “We are the state parliament!” in front of students at the Ottobrunn Gymnasium (from left).

Actually, the discussion in front of almost 60 schoolchildren, in which the SPD member of parliament Natascha Kohnen from Neubiberg also took part, was supposed to be about giving the young people within the framework of the Bavarian state parliament and the research group Youth and Europe at the Center for Applied Political Research (CAP ), explain political decision-making processes within state politics; Since 2006 there has been the so-called business game “We are the state parliament!”, in which students alternately come to the Maximilianeum or state politicians to exchange schools.

The accusation: The deputy invited the “radical Antifa scene” to her office

In Ottobrunn, however, it wasn’t long before the Green Koehler and the AfD man Winhart clashed. The question and answer session with the students was about how much criticism politicians have to put up with from political opponents. Unterhachinger Köhler, who is also her party’s representative for the district of Rosenheim, addressed Winhart directly: According to Köhler, Winhart himself had already disrupted Green Party events in Rosenheim with like-minded people and flags; the Hitler salute was even shown – but demonstrably not by Winhart.

The AfD MP said that the AfD had also experienced counter-demonstrations at events. Then Winhart confronted Köhler with an event that, to his knowledge, was said to have taken place the day before the planning game in Ottobrunn in the office of the Rosenheim Green Party on Papinstrasse. Köhler, according to the AfD man, had obviously invited to a party-political event there, the topic was the alliance “No AfD Rosenheim” with the presence of members of the “radical Antifa scene”. Köhler denied that such an event even existed. Moderator Liliane Vettori finally interrupted the dispute.

“That’s an outright lie,” says the MP from Unterhaching

When asked about this afterwards, the Greens, who have close ties to the Rosenheim party friends due to their work as a member of the supervisory board, denied having been in Rosenheim on Thursday evening. “That’s an outright lie, I was at home in Unterhaching that evening. My husband can also testify to that,” asserted the member of the state parliament when asked by the SZ. “You can also easily google Claudia Koehler and Rosenheim and see that there was no event with me.” Also on request, Winhart sends the screenshot of an invitation from the “No AfD Rosenheim” alliance with the title: “(nazi-free) Tomorrow (Thursday): No AfD meetings”. It reads: “But be careful, the place has changed. We meet: The Green Office. Papinstraße 1.” Winhart says to the SZ that he doubts that such a meeting is part of Köhler’s activities as a member of parliament.

SZ cannot verify the authenticity of the screenshot. There is no direct reference to Köhler’s participation in the meeting, nor does she appear as the sender or recipient. No information was available from the Greens in Rosenheim on Tuesday.
