Ottobrunn – Colorful November – District of Munich

While October is considered golden and the world is bathed in bright autumn colors, November has more of the reputation of the gray mouse. Whether the reputation is fair or not – for the members and friends of the Kunstverein Ottobrunn, November is the month in which the colorful and creative diversity of their works comes to the fore in public. From November 8 to 28, the municipality’s town hall will become the venue for the association’s annual exhibition after it fell victim to the pandemic last year. A whopping 61 artists show their work there, the viewer can look forward to a certainly impressive cross-section of current visual art, primarily from the southern and eastern Munich area.

The new solo exhibition in the association’s own gallery “Treffpunkt Kunst” will already be open this Thursday, November 4th. Dominika Egerer will present “Drawn Faces and Other Stories” there. The artist, who lives in Markt Schwaben, studied painting with Matthias Dornfeld at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kolbermoor. Egerer, like her husband, the photographer Jörg Egerer, a member of the new board of the Kunstverein, is showing her recent works on paper in the retrospective. Fine drawings and brush paintings with which she records her thoughts, which she “wants to pass on like encrypted messages”, as the announcement says.

The exhibition also lasts until November 28, the gallery is open on Thursdays and Fridays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and especially on the 1st weekend in Advent (November 27 and 28) from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The annual exhibition of the Kunstverein Ottobrunn is accessible during the opening times of the town hall, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and on Thursday afternoon from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
