Singer Lotte revealed on “Sing mein Song” that she had experienced sexualized violence. This brought tears to the eyes of her colleagues.

Singer Lotte (26) has the “Sing my song – the exchange concert” episode (also at RTL+) sparked tears and dismay from her colleagues last Tuesday. In an interview with host Johannes Oerding (40), the 26-year-old revealed that she had experienced sexual violence. That’s what her song “Just Like Me” is about, which she “wrote autobiographically”. It’s about “what it’s like when – in this case – as a woman, you say no and someone, whether on the street, in a club or wherever, crosses this border and takes what he – in the case – wants from you.”

The singer made it clear: “There are limits that you just don’t cross. A no is a no. Unfortunately, I had to experience it and I know that other women around me have also experienced it.” That’s why Lotte thinks it’s “important” to talk about the topic. “I don’t want to be perceived as a victim because I experienced that, I’m trying to turn things around,” she continued. “I’m trying to talk about it precisely because I know it’s the only way we can change it.”

“It’s clear: It’s never your fault”

Certain questions should not arise, the singer explained: “Was that my fault? Did I look wrong? Did I wear something wrong? Did I flirt? Was I drunk? What did I do wrong that the guy did whatever to me It’s clear: It’s never your fault. We have to talk about that.”

The subsequent performance of her song “So wie ich” led to tears and dismay from her colleagues. The lyrics are aimed directly at the perpetrator. Lotte couldn’t finish the song because she was in tears herself.

In the end, she didn’t give the title “Song of the Evening” to a specific singer, but instead threw the flower into the crowd of her colleagues like a bridal bouquet. SDP singer Dag-Alexis Kopplin (38) caught them – and passed them on to the band.
