“Sciences Porcs started two years ago, and we categorically refuse to think that this movement to free speech has had no impact on the practices and methods of integration of the school,” is moved on his Instagram page the student office Sciences po Bordeaux. Since this summer, around ten students from the first year class and gathered in an official group have been making headlines after discriminatory and insulting messages posted on social networks. It was student representatives who alerted the establishment’s management in mid-November.
Administrative investigation and reporting

An inter-association group of students is created and mobilized to collect testimonies and send them to the unit.
On November 29, the director of Sciences po Bordeaux requested the opening of an administrative investigation at the rectorate and “on December 4 he made a report to the judicial court under article 40”, specifies the communication. This article requires a constituted authority to denounce an offense of which it is aware.
Around ten students concerned
On December 6, management received the complete file established by the inter-association collective and which contains “around ten written testimonies and screenshots of messages sent since the summer”. This report was sent to the rectorate as well as to the prosecutor. “If some messages are more like jokes in bad taste, certain intolerable comments are in fact racist, sexist and discriminatory in nature, even if these facts ultimately only concern around ten students,” estimates the communications department of the establishment.
The conclusions of the administrative investigation will make it possible to decide on the disciplinary action to be taken, while management hopes for calm within the entire educational community. “These facts ultimately concern only around ten students, around whom evolves a class of more than 350 students for the first years and an entire community of 2,200 students overall who must be saluted for having refused to remain silent and condone the “unacceptable,” the school concludes.
