One dead and 14 injured, including four police officers, in a fire

During the night from Monday to Tuesday, around 11:30 p.m., a fire broke out in a residential building in Longuenesse, near Saint-Omer, in Pas-de-Calais. According to the Pas-de-Calais prefecture, the fire started in an apartment located on the 3rd floor of the building.

The human toll is heavy. A man died after jumping from the third floor to escape the flames. A pregnant woman was seriously injured after also throwing herself out of a window.
