Prices are rising everywhere, at the hairdresser, in the supermarket or in the catering trade. Only in the cinemas, there they sink. At least next weekend: It’s “Kinofest” again, and films are being shown at a special price of five euros, in all the halls and in all the seats. This nationwide event is taking place for the second time, in Munich there are multiplexes such as Cinemaxx or Royal, but also arthouse cinemas such as ABC, City, Gloria, Rex or Theatiner.
Anyone who hasn’t seen box office hits like “Barbie”, “Oppenheimer” or “Rehragout-Rendezvous” can do so at a reduced price. But the restarts of this week (“grandchildren for advanced” or “Dalíland”) are also on offer, as well as various previews: The Rio Movie Palace shows the love record “Do you remember” with prominent figures from Senta Berger and Günther Maria Halmer, in the Studio Isabela runs Aki Kaurismäki’s “Falling Leaves”. Also blockbusters like “Avatar: The Way of Water” (in Arri cinema) or “Top Gun: Maverick” (im Mathäser) will be shown again on the big screen. And since many people cannot imagine cinema without popcorn, there are also some snack offers.
