In addition to the drama about Kamila Valiewa in figure skating, another tragedy is taking place. The second, Alexandra Trusowa, is angry and doesn’t want to go to the flower ceremony.
The figure skater freestyle program at the Olympics this year is a memorable event. Unfortunately, a sad one for several athletes. Century talent Kamila Valiewa is suspected of doping. The 15-year-old Russian breaks in her performance under the immense pressure and makes several mistakes. In the end, Valiewa, who was considered the favourite, ended up in fourth place. While eyes are on them, another tragedy is unfolding on the edge of the ice sheet.
Valiewa’s compatriot Alexandra Trusowa presents her freestyle with several quadruple jumps. After her, neither the third top Russian, Anna Scherbakova, nor Valiyeva can repeat this. Still, Trusova lands in second place behind Sherbakova, as she gets fewer points for Ice Art and Expressiveness. An absurdity for the 17-year-old. Tears run down her formerly perfectly made-up face and leave traces of mascara on her cheeks. According to the TV station Sport1, she screams in Russian: “It’s impossible! Impossible! You can’t do it like that!”

When the award ceremony comes up, she refuses to take part. First Trusowa tries to hide behind a barrier. Again and again she vents her anger. When you can finally move towards the ice, coach Eteri Tutberidse approaches you and wants to grab your arm. But Trusowa reacted gruffly, pulling his arm back. According to “sportbox.ru”, the athlete is said to have called out to the trainer: “Stop that. You knew everything, you knew everything.” She also screamed that everyone had won a gold medal – except her. “I hate this sport. I will never set foot on the ice again.” In the end, she does that for the Flower Ceremony. When asked if she would continue with figure skating, Trusowa said, according to the DPA: “We’ll see.”
