The LRM majority accuses EELV and the PS of “denying” their convictions

” Treason “, “abandonment” ideas: members of La République en Marche (LRM) criticized, on Monday, the agreement sealed between La France insoumise (LFI) and Europe Ecologie-Les Verts (EELV) as well as the ongoing discussions with the Socialist Party ( PS), who, according to them, deny the convictions of these two parties.

“Incredible all these people supposedly steeped in principle, ready to abandon all conviction (…) for a handful of constituencies. And they want to rule our country? », launched on Twitter MP Sacha Houlié (LRM).

“What awaits the parties, in particular the Socialist Party, if they accept this alliance, is quite simply the disappearance of their ideas, and also the disappearance of their political party”predicted on RFI Aurore Bergé, deputy president of the LRM group in the National Assembly, while LFI is still discussing with the PS and the Communist Party (PCF). “When I see what is supposedly a union of the left, I also see elected officials, regional presidents, mayors, refusing this submission to LFI, abandoning their political history, their values, to try to save perhaps -be a handful of seats”she added, in reference to the internal tensions in the PS.

Fabienne Keller, MEP (Renew Europe) and vice-president of Agir, considered for her part on Twitter : “Europe Ecologie-Les Verts now has Europe in name only. For some legislative constituencies, the party denies its historical European commitment and allies itself with a Europhobic populist. »

Eric Woerth, ex-Les Républicains rallied to Emmanuel Macron, pointed to CNews “political agreements” and denounced the fact that there is no “Ideologically no coherence” between the parties of the left wishing to ally themselves. For PS, “It’s a betrayal of ideas” of this party: “You cannot be socialist and anti-European”he added, and “If you want to rule Europe on your own, you will go rule it elsewhere, but not in Europe, because it doesn’t work that way”.

On the right, MP Julien Aubert (Les Républicains) mocked on Twitter a “NUPES agreement” (for New People’s Ecological and Social Union) on behalf of “beautiful as a nuclear disarmament treaty during the Cold War”.

On the far right, Nicolas Bay, vice-president of Reconquête!, acknowledged that this alliance on the left underlined “the need for a gathering also of right-wing and patriotic forces” for legislative purposes. “The left knows how to silence its small differences for the sake of electoral efficiency (…). We must also be able to silence differences. between Reconquest! and the National Rally (RN), he urged, reiterating the call from Eric Zemmour’s party for an alliance with the RN, which continues to refuse it.
