Olivier Dussopt treated as “impostor” and “assassin” by an LFI deputy in the hemicycle

LFI deputy Aurélien Saintoul on Monday accused Labor Minister Olivier Dussopt of being an “impostor” and a “murderer”, immediately causing a suspension of the Assembly during already heated debates on pensions.

Aurélien Saintoul criticized the minister for having “lied” about the number of deaths at work, also accusing him of “felony”.

At the start of the session, Olivier Dussopt had declared that there are “650 deaths per year at work, a relatively stable figure. Each death is one death too many”. Aurélien Saintoul challenged him later, accusing him of lying, mentioning increasing figures, with “150 widowers and orphans” in addition. Cries resounded and Olivier Dussopt left the hemicycle during the suspension, noted AFP.

LFI MP apologizes, Dussopt “does not forgive”

“It is unacceptable, unthinkable that we continue in this verbal escalation. We can in no way treat Minister Olivier Dussopt as an assassin in the precincts of this hemicycle”, denounced the president of the deputies Renaissance Aurore Bergé, who wants an “apology”. Several opposition leaders from both left and right have asked the LFI deputy to apologize.

MP LFI Saintoul presented a “public apology” to the Minister of Labour. Olivier Dussopt “hears” but “does not forgive”.
