OL and OM, two sick clubs on the same trajectory during the last eight matches

This is not really the trajectory we hoped for for two historic French football clubs. Olympique Lyonnais and Olympique de Marseille are not really in great shape at the start of the championship. If the former have had a disastrous start, confining them to last place in the championship, the latter have been experiencing a rather worrying downturn for several days.

Since September 1, and the 4th day of Ligue 1 in Nantes (1-1), the Phocéens have only taken six small points, having won only one match in the last eight days, against Le Havre (3-0). According to Opta, “Marseille has lost its last four away games in Ligue 1, its longest series of defeats away from home in the elite since January-April 2002”.

With this series, the Marseillais find themselves just two points behind the play-off, with one game in hand. Six points in eight days is exactly the same result for Olympique Lyonnais. Les Gones, however, won their first championship match on Sunday in Rennes, after ten days of Ligue 1 without winning a single match. Stations of the Cross, when you hold us.
