OKX Exchange Seizes 2 Million USDT From Accounts Linked To Celestial (CELT) manipulation

According to a press release published by OKX on Feb. 28, the company said it hadseize Tether (USDT) 2,014,381 Tether (USDT) from 5 accounts suspected of participating in “Dangerous Market Spins” of the Celestial Token (CELT)

According to OKX, on February 26, developer Celestial announced the creation of a new blockchain game. Shortly thereafter, developer Celestial allegedly launched a social media campaign to promote the new game using OKX’s branding, which the company said was not authorized. This resulted in the CELT token price nearly doubling in two days. before dropping more than 50% in the last 24 hours to $0.002129 at time of publication.

And in response to user allegations of insider trading, OKX explained that OKX Ventures had invested $100,000 in the Celestial GameFi project in September 2021. However, the received CELT tokens were deposited. In OKX Ventures’ accounts, “no transactions” and “no evidence” of insider trading involving OKX employees were found according to the investigation.

However, the exchange has suspended 714,381 USDT from five accounts suspected of manipulation and claims Celestial will refund 1.3 million USDT linked to such activity. which has already been withdrawn from the trading website

As stated by OKX, the company will allocate 1 million USDT along with 2,014,381 USDT seized. This adds up to 3,014,381 USDT to be airdropped to affected users. Users are eligible to receive an airdrop if they purchase CELT tokens between Feb 25 at 00:00 Hong Kong Time (HKT) and Feb 28 at 00:00 HKT and suffer a loss.

And due to the complexity of the Airdrop, OKX says it will release more details in the next 48 hours.
