A 27-year-old English tourist was raped on Tuesday in the toilet of a Oktoberfest tent. It was the first registered rape at the Munich Oktoberfest this year, said a police spokesman.
The woman went to the toilets in the Augustiner marquee around 11 p.m. when a stranger followed her into the cabin. There he had performed sexual acts on her against her will. The 27-year-old defended herself and hit him in the face, whereupon the perpetrator fled. The police are now hoping for information from witnesses and the evaluation of camera recordings.
