It’s a fixed date like tapping at the beginning of the Oktoberfest – at least for the city’s influencers: Traditionally, Cathy Hummels invites you to “Cathy’s Wiesn Stroll” on the first Monday of Oktoberfest. For the sixth time, the presenter and former player’s wife is bringing a large group together in a nearby hotel.
There are dirndls, lederhosen and tailors who make sure they fit. Professional make-up stations have been set up, there are puzzles with Cathy Hummels on them, a photo station, pink drinks, vegan sushi, a multi-tiered cake, heart balloons and heart-shaped pretzels with pink salt.
A few years ago, the 35-year-old began to establish her “Wiesn Stroll” as a celebrity event. In the meantime she has managed it quite well: two of Boris Becker’s ex-partners have their make-up done in the hotel before their planned visit to the Oktoberfest, as does influencer Sophia Thiel.
And the host gives perfectly styled interviews about her love life. Hummels shouts: “Let’s make some love” into one microphone, into another that she hopes for “a lot of fresh meat”. Then everyone gets ready and is chauffeured to Theresienwiese in the MAN bus, the “Diamond Edition” of course.
The first stop is the Café Kaiserschmarrn, one of the smaller Oktoberfest tents, where you can have a good time with actress Sila Sahin. Beer isn’t drunk much, it’s only early afternoon. The food is hardly touched, the Insta posts are supposed to look good. Who wants to have a half-eaten pretzel in a photo…
Cathy checks actress Elena Uhlig again to make sure everything is in place. Then the stroll can continue. The rain just stopped, it can’t be a coincidence.
Then Clemens Baumgärtner, the economics consultant and Oktoberfest boss, appears and lifts Cathy Hummels as if he were training for “Hau den Lukas”. All of this will be visible later on Hummel’s Insta profile. Then a few of the women hook up with Baumgärtner and let him “teach them Oktoberfest know-how” – because that’s why he was invited by Hummels.

A few brave women even get on the ride and do a few laps over the festival area. Influencer Carina Zavline (right), who is sitting in a gondola with Hummels and blogger Sophia Thiel, will later praise the look on her account. Something completely new.
The former jungle queen Evelyn Burdecki has already been through a lot in front of cameras – and so she survives a stroll through the Oktoberfest without any problems. After the stroll around the festival grounds, we go to the Käfer tent. Hummels puts on a Hendl hat that makes the drumsticks wobble, Burdecki at least takes a ladybug balloon in his hand.
What happens after that? Sarah Engels talks to her husband Julian, while Cathy Hummels “goes hunting” with her friends. However, Hummels doesn’t find anything. And the cameras? Of course, they stay on even then.
Towards the end, when many have already gone home to fill their social media channels, comedian Matze Knop goes over to a cheater’s booth with Hummels. But the balloons just won’t burst. Again, not a direct hit.
