Beautiful, senile, empty, full and somehow different: the various crises have left their mark on the Oktoberfest.

Yes, what was that now? In any case, it wasn’t a normal Wiesn. Sometimes it was full in the tents, on the streets and at the rides, as if nothing had happened in the last few years. Then there were days when you only saw a few undeterred people on the wide Matthias-Pschorrstrasse and Wirtsbudenstrasse, who had come despite the cold and rain – probably tourists who had been there before. It was normal that in the late evening of the last day at the end of the bar the respective farewell songs were heard in all the beer tents and the crowds jostled there for the last time with their beer mugs. What was new was that this time it almost looked as if they wanted to quickly fish out the last viruses from the aerosol mist before the world’s largest folk festival ended for a year.
