At BVB there is little space for Ansgar Knauff in the first eleven. Now he is loaned to Eintracht Frankfurt within the Bundesliga.

Eintracht Frankfurt has loaned attacking player Ansgar Knauff (20) from Bundesliga competitor Borussia Dortmund for a year and a half. Both clubs officially announced this on Thursday evening.

“Ansgar fits into our team very well with his pace and his understanding of the game and would like to take the next step in development here. He is able to help us immediately on the flanks,” said Frankfurt’s sporting director Markus Krösche.

BVB: Knauff wanted more match practice

“Ansgar is a talent from our own offspring who already brings a lot with him. He came to us with the desire to be able to gain more match practice as part of a loan. We would like to offer him this opportunity to develop at a high level,” added Sebastian Kehl, Head of the Licensed Players Department at BVB.

Knauff has made 16 Bundesliga appearances for Borussia Dortmund, scoring one goal. As the black and yellow also announced, the loan deal does not include any obligations or options.
