You are never better served than by yourself. After a year without seeing the end of the tunnel, the actors of the event have decided to relaunch their sector in Toulouse by creating their own cultural meeting, where more than sixty local companies will play a role. At
program of this first edition of
L’Essentiel Festival, in reference to the term used during confinement to determine the activities authorized or not, a panel of French artists.

Over three evenings, Amel Bent, Patrick Bruel, Hatik, Bob Sinclar and Clara Luciani, will perform in front of 5,000 people on the MEET stage, the new Parc des Expositions, which should have opened last year in Aussonne. Just like young local artists, like Cyprien, finalist of The Voice, who will sing during one of the first parts of the evening.

An idea that germinated at the end of December in the head of Pierre Garrigues, the president of Uni-Sons, also boss of an events company. “At the time, we had to project ourselves onto something, create an event for us to be an actor in our return,” he explains. Quickly the choice of the place, vast and adapted to the sanitary rules, imposed itself. After contacting the NRJ group, the project is launched.

5,000 spectators seated per evening

It will therefore see the light of day this year from July 8 to 10. “But it is not a” one shot “, it is the beginning of an adventure and we have the ambition to anchor this festival to the MEET, to make it lasting”, continues Patrice Vassal, the boss of GL Events, the manager of the 95,000 m2 site located north of the Pink City and served by the tram.

For this first edition, the 5,000 spectators will have to remain seated and be provided with their health pass, justifying their vaccination, or a PCR test of less than 48 hours. But those who do not have antigenic tests will be carried out at the entrance to meet health standards.

So that the entry price is not a barrier either, and allows access to the greatest number, the price of the place has been set at 15 euros.
