Michela Murgia knew she didn’t have much time left and she spoke openly about it. In early May, she gave an interview to the Milan daily Corriere della Sera announced that she was suffering from advanced kidney cancer. However, she hopes that she will not have to die during the reign of right-wing populist Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. She then wished the author a very long life.
