Now it’s official: RTL shows boxing match between Stefan Raab and Regina Halmich

There has been speculation for a long time, but now RTL has announced that the station will broadcast the boxing match between Stefan Raab and Regina Halmich. Raab’s former house broadcaster ProSieben is therefore out of the race.

“The dream of many millions of TV viewers and my own personal one is finally coming true: Stefan Raab is stepping back into the spotlight and we will prepare the perfect stage for him. Boxing on RTL fits like Regina’s fist on Stefan’s eye. We are very happy, that RTL accompanies the night of nights live – and to a spectacular moment in television history,” said Inga Leschek, program manager of RTL and RTL+.
Just a week ago, ProSieben’s X channel reported that Raab would not be returning to his original broadcaster. “Good To Know. We won’t be showing the Raab-Halmich boxing match in the fall. Our boss Bert Habets just confirmed this again at the P7S1 general meeting,” it said on the short message platform.

The boxing match between Halmich and Raab was sold out within a short time. In 2001, the world champion broke the presenter’s nose, and she also won the revenge in 2007. It remains to be seen whether Raab can defeat them now. “When Stefan has an idea, he’s passionate about it. Then he’s persistent. When he tackles something, it turns out to be a hit. He knows how good entertainment works,” explains Halmich. “And the fact that RTL will show the ‘event of the decade’ is fantastic. I will show that I still manage to give him a good beating. And it will hurt again. I promise! Anyone who underestimates me has already lost “Raab will deliver a mega show according to all the rules of the art and I will give him a lot of heat,” she says.
