Nuremberg: tracking device leads to bicycle thief – Bavaria

A tracking device led to the arrest of a suspected bicycle thief in Nuremberg. He is said to have stolen several bikes, as the police headquarters in Central Franconia announced on Wednesday. On Tuesday morning, a 21-year-old had his bike stolen in Nuremberg. However, the young man had attached a GPS transmitter to it so that he could use it to locate his bike. According to the information, he discovered his bike on the back of a van. When he spoke to the 37-year-old driver, he fled the car and ran several red lights. A patrol later arrested the alleged thief. The officers found more wheels on his van, which the police say may also have been stolen. A magistrate must now decide whether the man will be remanded in custody.
