A bronze frog from the city park, missing from many Nuremberg residents after a theft, fell into the hands of police officers. Investigators searched a 29-year-old on suspicion of shoplifting – and found the frog sculpture in a shopping bag. The frog had been standing in the park for 68 years before it was stolen in early summer. The value of the sculpture is estimated at 2000 euros or more, said a police spokesman. The ideal value is likely to be much higher: the bronze frog has been in the park since 1953, and many people associate it with memories, said the police spokesman. The people were very relieved and happy about the news of the find.
