Nothing announces new smartphone phone (2a).

Nothing has announced a new smartphone with the Phone (2a). As part of his Community updates The manufacturer has announced the name and a few details about the new device for the first quarter of 2024.

The phone (2a) is said to be technically better equipped than the phone (1), Nothing’s first smartphone from 2022. The manufacturer has not yet published any precise technical data, instead there is an indication of which market segment the smartphone will be in.

The phone (2a) should be on the “User core needs” concentrate and “some of the most popular features of the Phone (2)” included – exactly which one is unknown. Together with the statement that the smartphone is supposed to be technically better than the phone (1), it is probably a technically reduced variant of the current phone (2).

The a probably stands for an intermediate version

This impression is reinforced by the nomenclature: Google, for example, gives the intermediate versions of its Pixel smartphones an “a”. It’s not unlikely that Nothing will do the same.

It is not known when the phone (2a) will come onto the market. Nothing also didn’t comment on the price. The phone (2) costs from 700 euros, the phone (1) was available at market launch from 470 euros – a possible price range for the phone (2a).

Nothing also announced as part of its update that it would be releasing an SDK for Glyph lighting. Numerous LED strips that can flash in different patterns are installed on the backs of the Nothing smartphones Phone (1) and Phone (2). With the SDK, lighting is available to all app developers.
