Finale of the TV show “The Masked Singer”: Comedian Mirja Boes leaves the stage as the winner at the end.
In a spectacular reveal at the “The Masked Singer” finale, comedian Mirja Boes dressed as the busy “Floh” won. The 52-year-old entertainer and singer (known from “LOL: Last One Laughing”) won first place on Sunday night Place in the popular ProSieben show. She got the most votes.
After Mirja Boes took off her voluminous costume hat, her wild blonde mane and a red clown nose became visible. Despite her initial surprise at the win, she gave free rein to her enthusiasm: “Kiss my ass – that was awesome!” joked the winner as she continued to wear her flea costume and rode around the stage on a giant snail.
The Rhinelander kept her secret even from close acquaintances such as jury member Palina Rojinski, with whom she had recently filmed. According to the comedian, it was easier to hide her participation from her two sons: the two were hardly interested in her singing exercises in the basement. Boes demonstratively shouted into the camera: “It’s me: Mom!”
Mirja Boes thrilled the audience not only with her mysterious identity as “Floh”, but also with performances of ABBA’s “Thank You For The Music” and Love Affair’s “Everlasting Love”.
The final saw further surprises as twins Heiko and Roman Lochmann, also known as musical duo HE/RO, were revealed as runners-up. The former YouTuber duo Die Lochis took off their disguise of two oversized flip flops and jokingly toyed with the idea of incorporating them into their own stage show.
Krumbiegel had to retire
Sebastian Krumbiegel had to say goodbye early, whose time as “The Crocodile” ended in the finale. The 57-year-old Die Prinzen singer (“Everything is just stolen”) humorously commented on his experience of being able to breathe despite the difficulties under his heavy costume. “But I have to honestly say: It was a good experience. I was finally able to sing in a different way ” he said.
“The Masked Singer,” based on an original South Korean concept, provides a stage for celebrities to showcase their singing skills behind imaginative costumes, with only their voices and cryptic tips providing clues to their true identities. The participants are usually unmasked when they receive the fewest viewer votes or, like Mirja Boes, triumph in the final.
