The 21st episode of the crime series “Nord bei Nordwest” is currently being filmed. After his first day of shooting, actor Cem-Ali Gültekin spoke up with a haunting video – and commemorated the victims of the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

Fans of “Nord bei Nordwest” have known him for years: In the crime series, actor Cem-Ali Gültekin is something like Schwanitz’s mascot. He plays the small business owner Mehmet Ösker, who has a different job in each episode, but is always somehow marginally involved in the cases.

The actor, who was born in Hamburg in 1981, is also back in the new episode of “Nord bei Nordwest”. On Friday he was on the set for the 21st episode of the popular ARD series. In the evening he posted a video on Facebook in which he addressed the team. “Many thanks to TRIPLE PICTURES and the entire NORD BEI NORDWEST team for your humanity and support during this difficult time,” he wrote about the video.

In it he expressly thanked for the donations collected by his colleagues for the victims of the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria and which were handed over to him in a donation box. “You guys are just amazing. I love you guys and I’m glad to be part of this wonderful production,” Gültekin said in the two-minute clip. In the hashtags for the post, he explicitly mentioned #hinnerkschönemann, the main actor of the crime series.

The fact that Gültekin is so involved in the disaster is because his family lives in the affected area, as he explains in the video. Gültekin’s parents are of Turkish-Syrian descent, the actor himself grew up in Hamburg in modest circumstances. However, there is apparently still contact with the family in his parents’ home country. The sympathy of the production team and the great sympathy of many people who have written him messages over the past few days would have given him a lot of strength. Now he hopes that more missing people will be found.
