The update on the health situation related to Covid-19 carried out by the Regional Health Agency (ARS) of Reunion Island, on August 17, is far from having gone unnoticed: many Internet users relay the figures, supposed to prove, according to them, the ineffectiveness of different vaccines against the disease.

Because, according to them, these 12 people were all vaccinated. This is in any case the reading made by these Internet users of the statistics relayed by the ARS in its bulletin, with these details: “9 [personnes] had comorbidities constituting risk factors for severe disease, 3 had no comorbidity and were over 70 years of age and 10 […] did not have a complete vaccination schedule, ”according to Reunion Island ARS.

But contrary to what these Internet users maintain, the majority of these 12 deaths concern unvaccinated people.
Joined by 20 minutes, the ARS of Reunion indeed specifies that of the 10 people without
complete vaccination schedule – either 7 days after the injection of the second dose for the Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca vaccines, and 28 days for Johnson & Johnson – died that week, “9 were not vaccinated (no dose received) and one person had received a dose. “
