No terrorist intention for the attacker with the screwdriver of the Place du Bouffay

The investigation into the assault on passers-by using a screwdriver on Friday in Nantes city center is over. The hearings of the main suspect are completed, the 27-year-old man will be presented this Sunday noon to a magistrate for a trial in immediate appearance, before the criminal court of Nantes, from Monday, reports
the national police.

The individual, unknown to the police, allegedly hit a person and threatened at least three others on Friday, around 11:30 am, Place du Bouffay, before being overpowered by a security guard. One victim was slightly injured in the thorax.

The terrorist intention was not retained by the investigators. “He does not really give an explanation, he says he does not remember too much and that he felt threatened,” said the police on Sunday.
