The federal police checked three 15-year-olds in Upper Franconia who were illegally smuggling weapons from the Czech Republic in their underpants. According to the authority, the officers found a telescopic baton, two stun guns and a butterfly knife on the young people on Monday evening.
The trio arrived by taxi at the former Schirnding border crossing (Wunsiedel district in the Fichtelgebirge). They initially told the officials that they had not imported any prohibited items. The behavior of the three seemed so suspicious to the officers that they finally checked them. The young people had bought the items at a market in the Czech Republic.
The officers notified the parents of the teenagers, who picked up their children. The 15-year-olds are now facing charges for violating the weapons law.
