A judicial investigation into a worrying disappearance was opened this Tuesday, February 20, 2024, a week after Erwan, 18, disappeared in Deux-Sèvres.

After eight days of preliminary investigation by the Niort public prosecutor’s office for “disturbing disappearance”the day after his relatives were alerted, a judicial investigation is now open.
Entrusted to an investigating judge, the investigation will now be able to be in-depth and provided with more extensive resources. As a reminder, the qualification in “worrisome” of the disappearance of an adult person is not systematic, adults having the right to disappear of their own accord.

The investigation continues
The young man disappeared around 2:30 a.m. in Montcoutant-sur-Sèvre on the night of Saturday to Sunday February 11, while leaving a nightclub called La Morinière.
This weekend evening, the nightclub in which he spends the evening with his friends is full, and for good reason: the rapper Leto is giving a concert, reports West France.
According to the managers of the La Morinière nightclub, “when they arrived, Erwan and his friends were already very drunk”, but they still managed to return. At 1:30 a.m., a security guard took him out of the establishment due to his drunken state. Erwan was to be picked up with his friends by the mother of one of them at 6 a.m.
The family announced that they were filing a complaint against the nightclub for “no assistance to the person in danger”.
The gendarmes are looking at the young man’s telephone records while field research continues. For the moment, no probable criminal leads have been mentioned to the press by the prosecution.
