No more parental allowance for higher earners: Paus wants to set the limit at 150,000 euros per household. – Politics

In the last week of the session before the parliamentary summer break, a new dispute broke out within the traffic light coalition. The focus is on the announcement by Federal Family Minister Lisa Paus (Greens) that she wants to achieve the necessary savings in her budget by capping the group of recipients of parental allowance. Specifically, Paus plans that in the future only parents with a taxable annual income of up to 150,000 euros should receive the wage replacement benefit – so far the limit is 300,000 euros.
