The Mainz public prosecutor’s office will not investigate publicist Richard David Precht for incitement to hatred. This was confirmed by the authority, which investigates advertisements after the publication of an episode of the podcast Lanz & Precht were made at the request of the SZ. In the broadcast on October 14th, the television presenter and the TV philosopher used the terrorist excesses of Hamas on October 7th as an opportunity to talk about Judaism. Precht had said, among other things, that Orthodox Jews “are not allowed to work at all, with the exception of a few things like diamond trading and financial transactions,” which is “fundamentally forbidden by religion.”
