The prosecutor general of the Court of Cassation, Rémy Heitz, announced Monday that he would not appeal against the acquittal of the Minister of Justice Eric Dupond-Moretti for illegal taking of interests, making this decision final.
“I will not, in my capacity as Attorney General, file a cassation appeal against this acquittal decision,” declared Rémy Heitz on France infobelieving that it would be complicated to “re-establish such a trial” and that it was necessary to “move towards appeasement”.
