Sudkreuz train station in Berlin. It is an appearance like so many these days: Federal Transport Minister Volker Wissing (FDP) actually wants to talk about security at train stations. About this super-innovative idea of a luminous platform edge, which will be presented to the public here for the first time on Thursday morning. As a test, red light strips in the ground warn passengers on the track before the train is approaching. This morning, too, Wissing cannot avoid a completely different topic: the nine-euro ticket. According to the minister, it delivers record numbers of passengers in local transport, and the ticket is “almost loved” by the citizens.
