NFL quarterback Dak Prescott got a new tattoo – not just any tattoo. The work of art goes over the entire leg, and Prescott was sedated for hours to create it.

Some athletes use the time between two seasons for vacation, some for time with the family, others for even more training. Football player Dak Prescott had a very special project on his list for this year’s offseason: a huge leg tattoo.

It’s far from the Dallas Cowboys quarterback’s first tattoo, but none of his previous tattoos have been this extreme. The complete work of art can be seen in pictures that tattoo artist Andres Ortega published on Instagram: It extends over the athlete’s entire right leg and has many details and decorations. But the 30-year-old also had to make sacrifices for this. It took a total of more than eleven hours until the tattoo was finished. Prescott was sedated for more than ten hours.

Mega tattoo from NFL star: The coach had no idea

“People are going to think it’s crazy, and it is crazy,” the quarterback told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “But the point is: I’m crazy. I’m not afraid of anything.” The first session lasted ten hours, then there was a second session in which Ortega fine-tuned the tattoo for around two hours. The gigantic tattoo includes references to Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and Muhammad Ali, among others, as well as Prescott’s brother, who took his own life. Dallas, the home of his team, and his hometown of Louisiana also appear.

Incidentally, team owner Jerry Jones and Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy were not informed in advance. “I certainly didn’t know he was sedated for 10 hours,” Jones said. Coach McCarthy didn’t find out about it until the day after the stabbing Tattoo. It is possible that both would otherwise have tried to dissuade their valuable and well-paid quarterback.

Dak Prescott has now had another tattoo: his late mother is now immortalized on his biceps. His brother has an identical tattoo. The long tattoo session doesn’t seem to have affected the quarterback in terms of sport. In the opening game of the new season, he led the Cowboys to a clear 40-0 win against the New York Giants.
