New Year’s Eve in New York is always something very special. Well-known stars will once again be appearing at the big show in Times Square this year.

At the famous New Year’s Eve celebration Musicians Flo Rida (44, “Low”) and Paul Anka (82, “My Way”) are scheduled to perform in New York’s Times Square this year. The organizers announced that the evening will be hosted by actor Jonathan Bennett, among others.

The New Year’s Eve celebration in Times Square in the middle of Manhattan is one of the largest and most famous in the world with music, shows and confetti. Tens of thousands of people follow it on site, millions via television and live streams.

At midnight, a glowing crystal ball slides down a flagpole – the so-called ball drop, after which the songs “Auld Lang Syne” and “New York, New York” echo through the streets of the US metropolis.

The major event has its origins in the opening of a new publishing house for the “New York Times” in 1904. The newspaper celebrated the occasion with a New Year’s Eve fireworks display.
