New Year’s fireworks canceled again

For the second year in a row, there will be no fireworks on New Year’s Eve on the Rennes Town Hall square. Last year, weather conditions forced the municipality to cancel the fireworks show.

To celebrate the transition to 2024, the city has this time decided to replace the fireworks with a DJ set, with DJ Ced on the decks, to entertain the crowd until the countdown. The party will then continue at Liberté with the concert ball.

For the rest, the Breton capital will offer more or less the same program of entertainment for the end-of-year celebrations. The kick-off will be given on Saturday December 2 with a musical stroll which will leave the Criée to reach Parliament Square for the launch of the illuminations. Before that, the Christmas market will take place on the Mitterrand mall from November 24 and until December 31.

The traditional projection show on the facade of the town hall will also be on the menu of the festivities from December 22 to January 7. Still at the helm, the Spectaculaires company will offer a show entitled “The list of my desires” which will be screened every twenty minutes each evening. We also don’t forget the famous Santa Claus mailbox, which will be installed on Parliament Square from December 2 to 20.
