The new year has started in the district with a number of operations for the police and fire brigade. It was only half an hour ago when a fight broke out near the market square in Grafing. A 53-year-old man was hit in the face with his fist by a previously unknown perpetrator. The man suffered a laceration in his eye, which was treated on site by an ambulance crew. Anyone who witnessed the ignition in Grafing and Kirchseeon should also call there. In both cases, which happened around the same time around 1.45 a.m., garbage cans were set on fire by firecrackers, the police estimate the damage at around 400 euros.
Also in the north of the district was lit on New Year’s Eve. At around 12:30 a.m., two containers at the Forstinninger recycling center were on fire. According to the police, who estimate the damage at around 2,500 euros, someone threw in several fireworks. A total of 8,000 euros in damage was caused in Markt Schwaben, where between 1.26 and 1.36 a.m. in Von-Kobell- and Enzensberger Straße, unknown persons set several containers on fire with fireworks. At around 1:30 a.m., a drunk 21-year-old driver rammed a garden fence on his way home from a New Year’s Eve party in Ebersberg. The police estimate the damage at 11,000 euros. Not alcohol but poor visibility from fireworks smoke was the cause of an accident around 4:30 a.m. near Emmering. The 60-year-old driver left the road but was not injured.
