For her new single, Shakira has teamed up with Colombian singer Manuel Turizo – and has become a mermaid.
Shakira (46) follows up: together with Manuel Turizo (23), the singer has her new one Single “Copa Vacía” released.
In the accompanying video, which Shakira himself directed, among other things, the singer as a mermaid with pink mane is “fished” out of a rubbish dump by Turizo. The two of them languished longingly for the main part of the song in the rain or through an aquarium. The song is about a couple who are desperate to save their relationship.
Musically, two people should be able to dance to the reggaeton beat. According to “Rolling Stone” For the Colombian singer, a long-cherished wish came true with the cooperation. So Shakira was already his muse when he was a little kid.
New album coming?
It’s not the first collaboration of the year for Shakira. She made history earlier this year with Bizarrap with the single “Music Sessions Vol. 53.” The song, which also sounds like a clear reckoning with her ex Gerard Piqué (36), debuted at number 1 on the charts worldwide, has broken 14 Guinness World Records and is the Spanish-language song with the most streams in one day.
Shakira is reportedly preparing for the release of a new long player. It would be her first album since 2017.
