Even before the start of Bruckner’s anniversary year – his 200th birthday in 2024 – several new recordings of his symphonies have been published, which are very different and at least partially break new ground. This is sorely necessary because Bruckner, along with Ludwig van Beethoven and Richard Wagner, was massively politically occupied during the Nazi era. There are also musical reasons for this.
