New movie trailer promises massacre in 2022

Expected, or rather eagerly awaited, on January 12, the new Scream film unveiled its first trailer on Tuesday, as well as a promotional poster. Twenty-five years after the original film and ten years after Scream 4, the masked killer Ghostface is back in Woodsboro and targeting a group of teenagers. But not only. As one character suggests, he exclusively attacks people linked to the first killer and is determined to bring back the secrets of the past.

“This time it’s different”

In fact, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette are also back in their respective roles as Sidney, Gale and Dewey, as is creator Kevin Williamson, for what is shaping up to be as much a sequel (the fourth) as it is a reboot. “This time it’s different,” promises a character.

Only absent: director Wes Craven, who died in 2015. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett (Wedding nightmare) have the heavy task of succeeding him, and if the first images show a less inspired staging, the massacre seems to be there.
