The search for a director for the new “Jurassic World” film continues. Conversations with David Leitch are said to have been unsuccessful.

Universal does not yet have a director for the next “Jurassic World” installment. The negotiations with David Leitch (48, “Bullet Train”) were not successful. Report that “Deadline” and “Variety”. The studio and the director apparently had different visions for the film and reportedly mutually decided not to work together.

The film’s release date has already been announced

The franchise’s Instagram account recently shared the iconic T-Rex logo and added a date: July 2, 2025. This gave an official release date for the still unnamed “Jurassic World” film. In January, the US industry magazine “The Hollywood Reporter” reported that some of those originally responsible for the new film were returning.

David Koepp (60), who wrote the scripts for the original film “Jurassic Park” (1993) and the sequel “Forgotten World: Jurassic Park” (1997) – based on the books by Michael Crichton (1942-2008) – will be write the script of the upcoming adventure. Steven Spielberg (77), who directed the first two films, is set to return as executive producer for the project. Cast details are not yet known. But according to “Deadline”, the new work is intended to offer a new view of the Jurassic era and could therefore see the return of original stars such as Sam Neill (76), Laura Dern (56) or Jeff Goldblum (71) as well as the most recent newcomer Chris Pratt (44) and Bryce Dallas Howard (42) make things difficult.

After three “Jurassic Park” parts (1993, 1997, 2001), a new trilogy began with “Jurassic World” in 2015, which continued with “Jurassic World: The Fallen Kingdom” (2018) and “Jurassic World: A New Age” ( 2022) was continued.
