Anyone who takes a look at the state of German industry these days will see a confusing picture: exploding production costs, high taxes, labor shortages and endless approval procedures on the one hand; high profits, government price controls and billions in subsidies on the other. What has so far been sought in vain, however, was a comprehensive basic idea: a description, so to speak, of the course the Federal Ministry of Economics intends to steer in the coming years, beyond all attempts to organize the climate-friendly restructuring of an entire country.
