Google has announced a number of new Android features. Like The Verge reported, these are three major feature updates and some minor improvements that are expected to hit smartphone users in the coming weeks and months. Android update: Blurred background and grammar correction

Already, users of google photos blur the background of images that show a person. This creates a professional portrait look even after the snapshot. According to Google, the feature should be expanded. After that, the function should also work with pictures of animals, plants or even food.

In addition, the Gboard keyboard further improved. Previously, grammar correction was only available to Pixel smartphone users. Other Android users should now gradually get the feature. For German users, however, there is a small catch: “Smart Compose” with suggestions for the next sentence element is only available in English for the time being.

Live translation also offline

About the app”Automatic transcription” conversations or announcements can be displayed live as text. Until now, an Internet connection was required for this. This is set to change in the future. Thanks to the offline function, speech-to-text should also work in places without sufficient mobile phone coverage.
