New emergency telephones: more security at Munich swimming pools – Munich

It doesn’t matter whether it’s swimming in summer or ice skating in winter, there are always accidents at lakes where quick help is required. The conspicuous red and white emergency telephones can become lifesavers: you can inform the local rescue control center about an accident at the push of a button – even if you don’t have a mobile phone at hand or there is no network at the moment.

However, because the old systems have become more and more prone to repairs in recent years, the city of Munich has now had a total of 29 new emergency telephones installed at Riemer, Feldmochinger and Langwieder See, just in time for the start of the new bathing season. The security at the seven municipal bathing lakes will be significantly improved, says Rudolf Brettner, Technical Director of the Munich Water Rescue Service.
